From Manual Presses to Smart Automation
In 1992, screen printing was largely manual, requiring more labor, setup time, and room for error. Designs were limited in color, detail, and scalability.
Fast forward to today: we’ve embraced automated screen printing presses, direct-to-film (DTF) and computer-to-screen imaging. These tools allow us to:
- Print more complex designs with pinpoint accuracy
- Maintain consistency across thousands of shirts, hats and more
- Reduce setup times and speed up production
- Take on larger volume jobs without sacrificing quality
These improvements allow us to handle bigger jobs with greater results. But they also open us up to being able to serve smaller jobs with excellence. Innovation works both ways when it creates efficiencies within the organization.
Digital Design Tools = Greater Creativity
In the early days, design proofs were created using basic design software. Changes were time-consuming, and clients often had to "imagine" the final product. That left room for error.
Today, we use advanced design platforms and mockup tools that allow you to:
- Visualize your apparel or merch before a single item is decorated
- Experiment with different layouts, colors, and placements in real-time
- Collaborate seamlessly with our in-house designers. This means fewer surprises and more confidence in the final product. It also allows us to proof the concept in advance and find ways to suggest potential improvements to generate better results in advance, before it’s too late.

Precision Tools and Processes
The screens we used to use for screen printing took longer to create, dry, and clean. They didn’t last as long, and could fail mid-project if we weren’t extremely careful. Now we have an automated screen creation process that eliminates error, increases durability, and saves hours in the process.
We’ve gone from manually printing each shirt to automated equipment to handle large orders all at once. This wasn’t done just once. Every time we see an opportunity to improve quality and efficiency, we’ve taken it.
We used to have to mix ink by hand. That took forever, and could lead to inconsistencies. We’ve invested in mechanical mixing equipment that brings the color to the exact shade needed.
You don’t always see these improvements, but we want you to know about them. We’ve created a few videos and will be adding to them over time to show you some improvements we’ve made in your best interest.
We don’t invest in technology for the sake of it. We do it because we believe our customers deserve the best possible experience, from design to delivery.
